Manual

3DTin is a browser based 3D modelling tool, that provides a simple user interface to create 3D designs. 3DTin Users can create 3D objects by putting together cubes of different colors.

The goal of 3DTin is to provide as intuitive user interface as possible for the task of 3D modelling. So the obvious question is, why should it need a "User's Guide"? Good question. The simplicity of 3DTin is aimed at getting user started as easily as possible. The toolbars and cursor cues make sure that adding, removing cubes come as obvious actions when the user first visits the app. More features unveil subsequently. But there are some advanced tips and techniques that are not apparent readily.

3DTin is a 3D Modeler that runs in your browser and you can:

  • Design models by placing cubes of different colors on top of each other.
  • Creat shapes from standard templates (WebGL required)
  • Save the sketches in cloud
  • Export the sketches in standard 3D file formats - STL, OBJ, Collada

3DTin was started in June 2010 as one of the first web based 3D CAD application. In the past 6 years the ecosystem of web based CAD applications has advanced. Simultaneously, we haven’t been able to service the community’s needs.

3DTin has been acquired by a Montreal based dashing startup – Lagoa.

Remember, 3DTin is a free, online and very complete 3D modelling tool, and it is written 3DTin, not 3D Tin.
