What is Quantity Take Off? Why use PriMus-TO?
“Quantity Take-Off” indicates all the necessary operations that allow the quantity surveyor to extract relevant metric data from a drawing and proceed to the preparation of a cost estimate of what is represented graphically in a given project.
It’s an international term that usually indicates a software that is also capable of acquiring measurements from a drawing saved in one of the many electronic formats (DWG, DXF) or a raster image (previously vectorised).
PriMus-TO allows the quantity surveyor to save the drawing information and the relating cost estimate data in the DWG file by creating unity between the two document types that other software procedures do not support.
This particular technology keeps all changes made to the drawing perfectly aligned to the construction estimate data. The CAD application must of course operate directly on the DWG drawing.
