Don’t be fooled by the acronym of this program. It may be called “Keep It Simple Slicer,” but it is actually a pretty sophisticated 3D printing software tool. Some have hailed it as a worthy alternative to the other 3D slicer software tools, others complain about the confusing interface.
While the free version will be sufficient for most users printing with only one extruder, the paid Pro version enables multi-head printing. Despite having an advanced nature, KISSlicer still makes some aspects of slicing simple with Profile Wizards for 3D printer-specific settings, as well as Tuning Wizards for material optimization.
New versions of KISSlicer are released on a relatively regular basis, constantly refining the printing process and improving quality with features like Ironing, which improves top surfaces of your prints, and Unload, a new setting that reduces stringiness.
Needless to say, this slicer isn’t for the faint of heart. While the settings and layout are fairly complex, KISSlicer provides an immense amount of control over the entire process, making it ideal for users who want to get under the hood of 3D slicing.
