uShroom is a system for collecting, analyzing, and sharing/exchanging data generated by home mushroom gardeners (small scale mycoculture practitioners). Basically, uShroom is a collection of interfaces (application software) that will allow mushroom cultivators to record grow data in a database (built around a formally defined data model) and analyze that data to find ways to improve their yield. This functionality will be provided in two different scopes:
Locally, as stand-alone software for recording and analyzing data from the user's own gardening projects. Even at this small scale, historical data can be looked at to reveal strengths and weaknesses in technique that can help improve yields in future projects.
Communally; these individuals' data-sets can be uploaded, combined, and analyzed in aggregate to find domain-specific best practices.
